David's Restaurant, in Monument Square (Portland, Maine), is a place I have visited many times. By now, I have have tasted every item on the menu; and the ones that disappeared as well. David's continues to be a place I will always consider, especially after last week's meal.

Ribollita Restaurant, (41 Middle Street, Portland, Maine) has been praised by my friends as one of the best restaurants in the Old Port. The restaurant is renowned for high quality, fresh, Italian food. This past Friday I made a decision to leave the main cluster of Old Port restaurants and cross Franklin Street to eat at Ribollita. I am not looking forward to going back.
Viagnola's Restaurant (10 Dana Street, Portland, ME), is not on my short list. I have made two visits to Viagnola's prior to this weekend; both were disappointing. Fortunately, this time Vignola's improved enough to become a notable contender in the Old Port.
On my last visit to El Rayo Taqueria (Portland, Maine) I was greeted by a host. El Rayo Taqueria began trying to convert to standard table service. I suppose this was somewhat understandable, as the restaurant was busy. Unfortunately, you could tell that their attempts at reversing entropy were futile when a beer-order placed at the counter had a 5 minute wait, and required the delivery by a waitress...
I finally revisited Food Facory Miyake - months after my last visit. In my eyes, Masa-san has transformed his establishment, rooting itself as the prime sushi (and Japanese/fusion) dish destination of the Old Port. Miyake's success is now fuel to my fire, supporting this blog and the reasons for doing it - restaurants change. Miyake seemed to have fixed the few things that, I felt, needed improvement.
